Music Ministry Team

The purpose of the Music Ministry is to glorify God, to proclaim God’s Word, and to edify and inspire, all via the medium of music. While the usual audience of our ministry is our congregation, we also endeavour to reach the community through our CDs and live-streamed worship services, which include our music.

The Music Ministry team strives to foster and cultivate the ministry by providing guidance and direction, support, planning, and building community for the various choirs, instrumental groups, and music programs. We are mindful that we have two audiences: our first audience is God, and our second audience is our listeners. Through music, we serve both by bringing them together.

“I will praise you with the harp for your faithfulness, my God; I will sing praise to you with the lyre, Holy One of Israel. My lips will shout for joy when I sing praise to you – I whom you have delivered” Psalm 71:22-23.

We are blessed with a rich heritage of music and a music-loving congregation with many musicians of all ages and stages. We have a variety of singing and instrumental groups that bring musical presentations on a regular basis.

Worship Services – Our services are frequently enriched by duets, quartets, or small-group songs and/or musical specials performed by congregants wanting to praise the Lord through music.

Worship Choir – Our worship choir is a mixed group of youth and adult singers who rehearse and perform regularly. Choir songs vary and include arrangements of familiar hymns, Church of God songs, or contemporary Christian songs. The worship choir also performs during special services such as Easter, Christmas, and church conferences.

Instrumental Groups – The Brass Band, Orchestra, and Handbell groups play hymn arrangements and Christian music every few months, as well as for special occasions.

Melody Makers – Children share their musical skills with the congregation during two months of the year by performing hymns and Christian music.
